A place of quiet reflection in Watford commemorating those who chose to be non-combatants during and since WWI

Stanborough Park, Watford had a high density of Concscientious Objectors when the Military Service act was introduced in 1916. They believed in the sancity of human life and followed the principles of the 10 commandments. Many were imprisoned and harsly treated for their beliefs. One hundred years on a peace garden has been opened in their memory - offering a current space of peace and reflection in a world where violence and war is all too prevelant.
