About the Site
The First World War Centenary spans from 2014 to 2018 and will be marked worldwide. IWM is leading Britain’s cultural commemorations through a programme of activities, including the redevelopment of its First World War Galleries; partnerships with national and international organisations and the management of the First World War Centenary Partnership. The Partnership is a network of national and international organisations that will be commemorating the First World War Centenary and includes museums, archives, libraries, universities and colleges, special interest groups, broadcasters and some commercial companies. Being a member of the Partnership gives each one of us a stronger collective voice, visibility through the Centenary logo, access to a wealth of expertise and resources and opportunity to promote our plans through the www.1914.org site.
If you work for an organisation that is planning something to mark the Centenary, IWM has created an Extranet site where you can discuss issues, make links with other members, share resources and become part of the Partnership Programme by using the Centenary Logo.
When you sign up to our Partnership Extranet, you are also signing up to the Culture24 network database. This is so that Culture24 can facilitate the Partnership list and Centenary Events Calendar available through 1914.org. It means the details submitted including your name and email will be automatically shared with Culture24. Culture24 may make contact through your email to update you on any changes that will affect your user account or for admin support, but will not communicate for sales purposes. For further details on the Culture24 network please follow this link: http://weareculture24.org.uk/network/ For the Culture24 network terms and conditions, click here: http://weareculture24.org.uk/network/dde-terms-conditions/
The personal details you provide for your Extranet user account including your own user email address will be stored securely by IWM and Culture 24. However, your email address will be made accessible to other Partnership members in order to facilitate discussions. Your email and name will also be used by Culture24 to create user records for their system. We therefore advise that you use your work rather than private email address.
When signing up to the Partnership Extranet you are also signing up to receive the members’ E Newsletters which will be sent to both your organisation and personal email addresses. You can opt out of receiving these newsletters at any time.
