The UK Web Archive: Commemorating the First World War

21 February 2019 | Liz Robertson

The UK Web Archive has been collecting websites about the First World War since 2014, and will continue to do so until at least 2019.

So far the collection has over 800 websites individual websites archived, many of which are available to view through the public website

There is already a great range of websites to view in the collection. Many of them look at memorials linked to places, individual units, family members or the home front.

The UK Web Archive welcomes any suggestions for making this collection as complete as possible. If you have, or know of, a UK website relating to the First World War please let the team know. You can contact them on Twitter @UKWebArchive or use the online nomination form.

Online resources only last a few years, and the UK Web Archive aims to keep copies of these First World War Centenary websites in perpetuity. Help keep these memories alive.
