West Cork History Festival 28-30 July 2017

23 June 2017 | Pamela Linden

The first West Cork History Festival will take place over the weekend of 28th-30th July 2017.

The programme will span a diverse set of places, historical subjects and periods, from the local to the international, ranging from the Knights Templar to the events of the Irish revolutionary period in West Cork.

Leading historians will be joined by journalists and senior diplomats, and while much of their focus will be on Irish themes, the perspective will be international.

The Festival programme includes two panel sessions on the First World War, taking place on Sunday 30th July. Speakers include Lar Joye (National Museum of Ireland), Heather Jones (LSE), Eunan O’Halpin (TCD) and Rabbi Julia Neuberger (West London Synagogue).
