Would you like to speak at a ‘Women in Military History’ event at the National Army Museum?

Please see below for an exciting opportunity to speak at or attend the ‘5×15: Women in Military History’ event at the National Army Museum in October, courtesy of Katy Jackson, Public Programmes Manager at NAM.

In response to recent discussions on Twitter, the National Army Museum is putting together an afternoon to share the research and experiences of women in military history. Women are underrepresented across the board in academia, particularly in military history, and we’re excited to offer a platform for peers and the public to hear about the work that women are doing.

We’re doing an afternoon event on Saturday 12 October from 1pm – 5pm, in a 5×15 style: 5 talks of 15 minutes and then a panel with the speakers. We’ll have two sessions and ten speakers in total.

We’re taking proposals for talks until Friday 28 July, so please send 300-500 words to info@nam.ac.uk.

All our speakers will receive a fee and we will cover reasonable travel expenses.

Full details on the event are here on our website: https://www.nam.ac.uk/whats-on/5×15-talks-women-military-history

Tickets for the event will be free, and available to book once the programme of speakers is confirmed.
