Tyne & Wear Archives has produced a Flickr set featuring a series of mugshots dating from the period 1914-1916, relating to police cases in North Shields.

Take a look at the images, which give an interesting insight to life on the home front during the First World War. They include a Northumberland Fusilier who was arrested for theft, a soldier of the Sherwood Foresters who was arrested for stealing and a soldier arrested for breaking and entering.
